Fenix 5/5S の Owner's Manual を見ていたところ製品の個別ページに記載されている Battery Life の情報と相違点が見つかったのでいちおう載せておきます (Garmin の場合、新製品発表・発売時この手の相違が多々あります)

相違点

• 5S を [GPS - ON、内蔵心拍計 - ON] の状態で使用した場合、Owner's Manual は 14 hours、製品ページは 13 hours
• 5 を UltraTrac GPS mode の状態で使用した場合、Owner's Manual は 75 hours、製品ページは 100 hours*1
• 5S を UltraTrac GPS mode の状態で使用した場合、Owner's Manual は 40 hours、製品ページは 50 hours*1

*1 Fenix 5 (全モデル) には Gyroscope*2 という機能が搭載されているようでそれを ON にするか OFF にするかで Battery Life が変わるのではないかと思っています。

Owner's Manual のほうは「UltraTrac GPS mode with gyro-based dead reckoning」と書かれていて、製品ページのほうは「UltraTrac™ battery saver mode」と書かれていますので。

勝手に結論

いつもどおり安定の「実際に使ってみないとわからない!!」ということですかね(笑)
ロードの 100km なら 5S でも行けそう。心配ならレースの時だけ内蔵心拍計 OFF にして、HRM-Run 付けちゃえばいいかなって感じ？

念のため、Owner's Manual にも書いてありますが Battery Life は

The actual battery life depends on the features enabled on your device, such as activity tracking, wrist-based heart rate, smartphone notifications, GPS, internal sensors, and connected ANT+ sensors.

です。
